The Quidenham Group of Parishes consists of the six rural villages of Banham, Eccles, New Buckenham, Old Buckenham, Quidenham and Wilby in Norfolk, 20 miles South West of Norwich, between the towns of Attleborough, Diss and Thetford. You can find links to the individual churches on the left here.
We are in the Thetford and Rocklands Deanery and within the Diocese of Norwich and have predominantly two 'nationalities' living in our area, those who have lived all their lives in the parishes, and those who have travelled and have now settled in this area. Some work locally, others commute to neighbouring towns or London while some are retired.
We use a varied style of worship including Common Worship and 1662 Common Prayer and each parish is proud of it's differences from the others, though we enjoy worshipping, all six congregations together, together every 5th Sunday of the month, the Sunday after Christmas, for Rogation Sunday and every day during Holy Week. Three villages have a service every week, and three coordinate together to ensure a service between them every week.
Lay leadership is encouraged throughout the group and retired clergy are very much included, as they wish and are able, in the services throughout the benefice - indeed we could not hold the number of events and church services we do without all these volunteers.
Locally the information about village events and services is published in the Six Villages Newsletter, a community newsletter produced and distributed to 1650 households in the Quidenham Group by a dedicated production team, and available here (http://banhamandthebucks.co.uk/sixvillages/index.html)
The best way to know about us is to come and visit. You'll be welcomed warmly and if you're in a church on a week when refreshments are to hand you will be encouraged to join us.
